Will I see a Psychiatrist?
Psychiatry is a specialty field. An individual who is having symptoms doesn’t necessarily have the need for a psychiatric appointment. Some disorders such as anxiety disorders are better treated with therapy only. New patients at Southwestern will first see a therapist and then be scheduled to see a Psychiatrist, if clinically necessary.
