Friends of Mental Health, Southwestern’s Foundation, was established in 2004 by the late Dr. John Berry and his wife Kathleen to raise resources and create awareness of the availability of mental health services. Today, Southwestern is proud to continue the work of The Friends of Mental Health to support mental health services in our communities.

Southwestern Healthcare, Inc. and its affiliates must have the financial resources to continue to provide high-quality services and to expand its reach into important new initiatives. To fulfill this mission, Southwestern Healthcare, Inc. created the Southwestern Foundation to secure resources from external sources rather than relying on the current revenue streams that are destined to decrease through the upcoming years.

Brim and Rim Event (2018)
Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 from 11:30a – 1:30p
Tropicana Executive Conference Center – 421 NW Riverside Drive

About the Event

Join us at the 2018 Brim and Rim event to enjoy a relaxing, fun-filled luncheon that includes guest speaker, Richard Coleman, who will share his journey of loss, recovery, and getting involved in the cause of suicide prevention to make a difference after losing three family members to suicide over the past 30 years, a silent and live auction, a gift card bidding frenzy and a 2018 commemorative souvenir, all while supporting mental health services in our communities.

Our Cause

Our signature event for Friends of Mental Health will be an opportunity for guests to not only enjoy a fun luncheon, but to learn more about the direct support and services that the Friends of Mental Health fund through this event for individuals with mental illness and addictive disorders. Funding from this event will support individuals in ways such as purchasing needed (sometimes emergency) items, medications, bus tokens so that they have transportation to work, grocery stores, or doctor appointments and helping to create improvements in mental health programs and services.

Venue and Parking

You may park in the parking garage at Tropicana. Please come to the 2nd floor of the parking garage and enter the executive conference center. Proceed to the escalator where you will travel down to the main floor and find the grand ballroom on your right. You may also enter the facility off of the main road if you need handicap accessibility.

Tickets

Tickets are on sale now for $50.00 per person. We sell out every year! Call 812.436.4221 or email glinesb@southwestern.org to purchase your ticket or to donate to our event.
