Keeping Families Together and Strong
At Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare, we believe that children thrive when they can remain safely in their own homes. Our Family Preservation program is a specialized, intensive service designed to support families during challenging times, providing the tools and resources necessary to build a stable, healthy environment for everyone.
How the Program Works
Family Preservation is a voluntary, evidence-based program provided through a dedicated partnership with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS).
Unlike traditional outpatient services, our team meets you where you are, literally. Most services take place directly in your home or community, ensuring that support is accessible and tailored to your family's real-life daily routines.
Please Note: This service is available on a referral basis only through your DCS Family Case Manager.

What We Provide
Our goal is to wrap a safety net around your family. Depending on your specific needs, your Preservation team may provide:
-
Intensive Case Management: Helping you navigate complex systems and connect with local resources.
-
Safety Planning: Developing practical strategies to ensure a secure home environment.
-
Evidence-Based Interventions: Utilizing proven therapeutic models to address behavioral health or substance use challenges.
-
Crisis Support: Providing 24/7 access to assistance when your family needs it most.
-
Parenting Support: Teaching effective communication, conflict resolution, and nurturing skills.
Our Commitment to You
We understand that being involved with child welfare services can be overwhelming. Our team is here to act as your partner, not just a provider. We focus on your family's unique strengths and work collaboratively with you to meet the goals set by your DCS case plan, with the ultimate aim of permanent family stability.
